Meridia Directions
Do not increase your dose of Meridia, take it more frequently or use it for a longer period of time than prescribed, as this drug can be habit-forming. Take Meridia orally exactly as directed by your doctor. Results may take 4 weeks to appear. If taken over a long period of time, do not suddenly stop taking this medication without your doctor's approval. This drug may become less effective over time. You can take Meridia on an empty stomach or after a meal.

Meridia Side Effects
Some potential side effects include dry mouth, drowsiness, sleeplessness, or constipation. If they last longer than a few days or if they become troublesome, speak with your doctor immediately. Do not share your medication. Use this drug along side of a healthy diet. Expect your doctor to require regular blood pressure and pulse monitoring, and a few lab tests to make sure no negative side effects are occurring.

Meridia Warnings
You will need to avoid drinking Alcohol while taking Meridia as it can increase the chances or severity of dizziness. Inform you doctor of your complete medical history before you use Meridia, including any allergies (especially drug allergies), liver or kidney disease, high blood pressure, heart disease, history of stroke or seizures, certain eating disorders (e.g., anorexia nervosa), glaucoma (narrow angle), or gallstones these may affect your use of Meridia. Also inform us know if you think you are pregnant or if you are breast-feeding. This medication is not recommended for use in children. Speak with your physician or pharmacist for further information about Meridia diet pills.

Meridia Drug Interactions
Tell your doctor about all medications you use, including both prescription and nonprescription, especially weight loss drugs like diethylpropion, drugs that can raise your blood pressure like common decongestants that contain ingredients like pseudophedrine, or phenylpropanolamine. You should also tell your doctor if you use psychiatric medications, lithium, or MAO inhibitors like selegiline, moclobemide, furazolidone, phenelzine, antidepressants (ingredients to look for are nefazodone, fluoxetine, paroxetine, sertraline, fluvoxamine, venlafaxine), or tranylcypromine, and cough suppressants that contain dextromethorphan. If you use tryptophan, ketoconazole, erythromycin, narcotic pain relievers, particularly meperidine, pentazocine, fentanyl, drugs for migraine headaches like dihydroergotamine or sumatriptan, high blood pressure medicine, or any drugs that can make you drowsy like antihistamines (diphenhydramine), anti-seizure drugs, or sedatives, please be sure to inform your doctor. Remember that antihistamines and decongestants are found in many over-the-counter medicines for colds and cough. Be sure to speak to your pharmacist. This medicine and MAO inhibitors (see above) should not be taken at the same time. If either this drug or the MAO inhibitors is stopped, you need to wait at least 2 weeks before you commence taking the other drug.

Meridia Missed Dose
When you discover you have missed a dose, take it immediately, but if it is near to the time to take another dose, skip it and return to your regular dosing schedule. In other words, do not double the dose in an attempt to catch up.

Meridia Storage
Your medication should be located away from children, out of sunlight and away from moisture. Keep it somewhere that stays between 59 and 86 degrees F, or 15 and 30 degrees C.

Anything Else I Should Know About Meridia
Meridia medication should be used in conjunction with a reduced calorie diet and light exercise. Blood pressure and pulse may be measured and laboratory tests performed to monitor side effects. Do not share this medication with others. The concern of the committee was that the health risks associated with the use of Meridia for treatment of obesity outweighed the potential benefits. Meridia was approved by the FDA use of the diet drug against the wishes of its advisory committee that actually voted against its approval by a 5 to 4 vote.
